Speedometer Gear, A/T: Service and Repair
1. Disconnect speedometer cable, if equipped.
2. Remove electrical connector from sensor. Weather seal must stay on connector.
3. Remove distance sensor attaching bolt, then pull sensor and pinion gear assembly out of extension housing.
4. Remove pinion gear from sensor.
5. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install new O-ring on distance sensor outside diameter.
b. Torque distance sensor attaching bolt to 60 lb-in.
c. Torque speedometer cable to 35 lb-in.
