Gas Prop - Installation

INSTALLATION

NOTE: Left side liftgate support cylinder shown in illustrations. Right side similar.

NOTE: Be sure to install the liftgate support cylinders in the correct position. The cylinder end is attached to the liftgate and the shaft end of

the prop is attached to the D-pillar.

1. If removed, install the pivot (1) onto the liftgate (3). Tighten the pivot to 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.).
2. Position the liftgate support cylinder (2) being serviced to the liftgate and connect the support cylinder to the pivot.
3. Engage the retainer that secures the liftgate support cylinder to the pivot. Make sure the retainer is fully engaged to the pivot.

4. If removed, install the pivot (3) onto the D-pillar (1). Tighten the pivot to 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.).
5. Position the liftgate support cylinder (2) being serviced to the D-pillar and connect the support cylinder to the pivot.
6. Engage the retainer that secures the liftgate support cylinder to the pivot. Make sure the retainer is fully engaged to the pivot.
7. Remove the lifting device from the liftgate.
