Trunk / Liftgate Latch: Service and Repair
Liftgate Latch - Removal
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the liftgate trim panelSee: Trunk / Liftgate Interior Trim Panel/Service and Repair/Liftgate Trim Panel - Removal.
3. Disconnect the power locking latch cable (1) from the exterior liftgate handle (2) and remove the cable from the handle.
4. Disengage the retaining clip that secures the lock cylinder rod (5) to the lock cylinder (6) and disconnect the rod from the cylinder.
5. Disconnect the wire harness connectors (2) from liftgate latch (4).
6. Remove the three screws (3) that secure the liftgate latch to the liftgate (1) and remove the latch.
7. Disengage the retaining clip that secures the lock cylinder rod (2) to the liftgate latch (1) and disconnect the rod from the latch.
