Parking Brake Cable - Installation
Rear
INSTALLATION
1. Guide trailing end of parking brake cable through cable routing bracket secured to the rear brake caliper and axle, back to brake caliper lever.
2. Pull the parking brake cable strand (1) outward from the cable housing at the trailing end and hook it onto the caliper lever (2).
3. Push the excess cable strand back into the cable housing, then insert the cable housing (3) into the mounting bracket (1) until the retainer fingers
(2) lock into place. Make sure both fingers are engaged preventing removal of the cable from the bracket.
4. If servicing right rear cable, position right rear parking brake cable (1) in front of axle (3) and install screws (2) securing cable in place. Tighten
screws to 6 Nm (55 in. lbs.).
5. If servicing left rear cable, secure cable routing loop to underbody of vehicle using screw.
6. Pass the right rear cable through the cable routing loop secured to the underbody of the vehicle.
7. If servicing left rear cable, position left rear parking brake cable routing clamp at left axle trailing arm. Tighten screw to 6 Nm (55 in. lbs.).
