Install the return hose clamp. Be sure the hose clamp is installed past the bead on the new power steering tube.

Raise the vehicle on the hoist.

Before installing the new power steering return hose on the power steering gear, lubricate the O-ring using clean power steering fluid.

Install the return hose into the power steering gear port (Figure 2). Thread the return hose tube nut into the gear, but do not tighten the tube nut at
this time.
19.
Position the return hose routing clamp and install the screw securing the return hose routing clamp to rear of ABS support bracket (Figure 2).
Tighten the screw to 71 in. lbs. (8 N.m).
20.
Tighten the return hose tube nut at steering gear to 23 ft. lbs. (31 N·m).
21.
Using Mopar Brake Parts Cleaner or equivalent, clean off any power steering fluid that may have spilled onto the front suspension crossmember.

Lower the vehicle.
23.
Place the battery tray into mounted position.
24.
Install the one nut and two bolts securing the battery tray to the frame rail (Figure 1). Tighten the all battery tray fasteners to 105 in. lbs. (12 N.m).
25.
Install the battery and connect the battery cables.
26.
Fill and bleed the power steering system using the following procedure:
a.
Check the fluid level. As measured on the side of the reservoir, the level should indicate between MAX and MIN when the fluid is at normal
ambient temperature. Adjust the fluid level as necessary. Do not overfill the system.
WARNING:
The fluid level should be checked with engine off to prevent injury from moving components.
CAUTION:
Mopar(R) Power Steering Fluid + 4 or Mopar(R) ATF+4 automatic transmission fluid is to be used in the power steering system. No other power
steering or automatic transmission fluid is to be used in the system. Damage may result to the power steering pump and system if another fluid is
used.
CAUTION:
If the air is not purged from the power steering system correctly, pump failure could result.
b.
Tightly insert the power steering cap adapter (Special Tool 9688) into the mouth of the power steering reservoir (Figure 3).

Attach the hand vacuum pump (Special Tool C-4207 or equivalent) with the reservoir attached to the Power Steering Cap Adapter (Figure
