Air Gap

Use a feeler gauge to measure the air gap between the front plate and the pulley face. The air gap should be between 0.020 and 0.035 in. (0.05
and 0.9 mm.). If the air gap is incorrect, add or remove shims on the compressor shaft to obtain the proper air gap.

Install lock washer and shaft nut. torque the shaft nut to 155 +/- 20 in.lbs. (17.5 +/- 2 N-m.).

Recheck the air gap after torquing the shaft and adjust shim thickness if necessary.
