Trunk / Liftgate Switch: Description and Operation
CIRCUIT OPERATION
The Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) uses the liftgate ajar switch to provide an input to the Body Control Module (BCM). This switch is
normally OPEN with the liftgate closed. When the liftgate is opened the switch CLOSES completing a path to ground.
Circuit G78 is used to monitor the liftgate. Ground for the switch is supplied on circuit Z1, and terminates at the liftgate ground.
