Brake Pad: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation
Front
NOTE: Before proceeding with this procedure, review the Service Warnings and Cautions found in Service Precautions.
REMOVAL
1. Raise the vehicle. See Hoisting in Maintenance.
2. Remove both front wheel and tire assemblies.
3. Begin on one side of the vehicle.
4. Remove the 2 caliper to steering knuckle guide pin bolts.

5. Remove caliper from steering knuckle by first rotating free end of caliper away from steering knuckle. Next, slide opposite end of caliper out from
under machined abutment on steering knuckle, then remove it from brake rotor.
CAUTION: Supporting weight of caliper by the flexible brake fluid hose can damage the hose.
