Voyager V6-3.0L VIN 3 (2000)
INSTALLATION
1. Using a lint free towel, wipe clean the open power steering hose ends, power steering pump fitting and power steering gear port.
2. Install a new O-ring on the end of the power steering fluid return hose (gear end). Lubricate O-ring with clean power steering fluid.
3. Attach the power steering fluid return hose to the port on the power steering gear. Do not tighten the tube nut at this time. Do not bend tube ends
when installing.
4. Attach the power steering fluid return hose to the fitting on the power steering pump. Route hose smoothly avoiding tight bends or kinking. It must
remain away from the exhaust system and not come in contact with any unfriendly surfaces of the vehicle. Install the hose clamp at the pump
fitting.
5. Install the power steering fluid hoses routing bracket, then install the mounting bolt. The power steering fluid hoses must remain away from the
exhaust system and must not come in contact with any unfriendly surfaces of the vehicle.
6. Tighten all fasteners to the specifications listed below:

Gear End Tube Nut - 31 Nm (275 inch lbs.)

Routing Bracket To Cradle Bolt - 23 Nm (200 inch lbs.)
7. If the original return hose assembly is to be reinstalled and it is still in two pieces as described in Removal, install the power steering fluid return
hose on the steel tube at the front suspension cradle. Install a screw type hose clamp on the power steering hose to steel tube connection. Tighten
the screw clamp to a torque of 2 Nm (18 inch lbs..
CAUTION: The protective heat shield sleeves must cover the entire rubber hose and hose to tube connection portion of both the power steering
fluid pressure and return hoses. This is to prevent overheating of the power steering fluid hoses.
8. When used, position the protective heat sleeves on the power steering fluid hoses so they cover the connection to the power steering pump. Then,
tie strap the heat sleeves to the power steering hoses to keep them in their proper position.
9. Lower vehicle.
10. Refill the power steering system and perform Power Steering Pump Initial Operation Service Procedure. Refer to Power Steering Pump.
11. Check for leaks.
