Parking Brake Cable: Service and Repair
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the center console.
2. Loosen the parking brake adjustment nut.
3. Remove the rear wheels.
4. Remove the rear brake drum.

For the ABS braking system (shown), remove the detent screw and remove the rear brake drums.

For the non-ABS system, remove the split pin and the castle nut to remove the brake drum.
5. Remove the retaining ring for the parking brake cable.
6. Remove the plastic sleeve.
7. Remove the parking brake cable from the brake shoe lever and from the brake backing plate.
