Daewoo has determined that certain 1999 ~ 2000 Leganza models produced between May 13, 1999 and October 15, 1999 may experience some power
steering fluid seepage from the High Pressure Power Steering Hose.
To correct this condition, Daewoo will replace the High Pressure Power Steering Hose in all affected Leganza models within the specified VIN and
production ranges. The VINs of the affected vehicles have been entered into the Daewoo Data-Link System (DDS). DDS should be used to determine if
the vehicle is subject to the information and procedures provided in this bulletin. Failure to use the DDS to "qualify" each VIN may result in claim
rejection and non-payment.
This procedure should be performed immediately to all affected vehicles currently in dealer inventory before they are sold/delivered. Customer vehicles
that are within the specified VIN range should have the High Pressure Power Steering Hose replaced during their next service visit.
High Pressure Power Steering Hose Replacement Procedure:
1.
With the engine off, raise the vehicle using a suitable lift.
2.
Remove the splash shield from the right front side of the vehicle.
3.
Place suitable drain pans below the Power Steering Pump and the Power Steering Rack Pinion Housing.
4.
Lower the vehicle.
5.
Disconnect the High Pressure Power Steering Hose fitting from the Power Steering Rack.
6.
Allow the fluid to drain into the drain pan.
7.
Remove and retain the screw attaching the High Pressure Power Steering Hose to the Upper Generator Bracket.
8.
Disconnect the High Pressure Power Steering Hose fitting from the Power Steering Pump and remove the hose from the vehicle.
9.
Install the Power Steering Rack end of the new High Pressure Power Steering Hose into the Power Steering Rack. Do not tighten at this time.
10.
Route the High Pressure Power Steering Hose behind the engine and up over the timing belt cover, then thread the fitting into the Power Steering
