Shift Cable: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure 

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Disconnect the shift control cable from the selector lever.
3. Disconnect the shift control cable from the bracket.
4. Remove the right and the left front lower trim panels, and the floor console.
5. Remove the selector position indicator bracket and selector lever handle.

6. Loosen the pinch bolt nut on the shift control lever.

7. Remove the shift control cable from the shift control assembly by holding one nut while loosening the other one.
