Fuel Pressure Regulator: Service and Repair
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Disconnect each injector connector.
3.
Disconnect fuel hose at delivery pipe. Use caution when removing fuel hose. Cover fuel line connections with a cloth to prevent fuel from
splashing.
4.
Disconnect fuel return and vacuum hoses from pressure regulator. Before disconnecting return hose, release fuel pressure by removing fuel
tank cap.
5.
Disconnect vacuum hoses from vacuum pipe.
6.
Cover electrical components with a suitable cloth and remove delivery pipe. Remove pressure regulator from delivery pipe.
7.
Remove fuel injector.
8.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque delivery pipe nuts to 10.8-15.9 ft. lbs.
b. After delivery pipe is installed, ensure injector can be rotated by hand.
c. Torque fuel hose to delivery pipe to 25.3-32.5 ft. lbs.
d. Turn ignition switch on and then off in intervals of 2 to 3 seconds to bleed air from pressure regulator.
e. Ensure that no fuel leakage exists
