Suspension Spring ( Coil / Leaf ): Service and Repair
Coil Springs
1. Raise and support vehicle, then support axle with a suitable hydraulic jack.
2. Scribe alignment marks on lower suspension arm cam adjusters and axle bracket for installation reference, then remove upper suspension arm and
loosen lower suspension arm bolts.
3. On 4WD models, disconnect front propeller shaft from axle. Mark orientation for installation reference.
4. Disconnect track bar from frame rail bracket, drag link from pitman arm and stabilizer bar link and shock absorber from axle.
5. Lower axle until spring is free from upper mount, then remove spring.
6. Reverse procedure to install. Use a new cotter pin when connecting drag link to pitman arm.
