Rattle Due To Seat Belt Latch Plate Bumping Trim

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Rattling noise from the seat belt latch plate bumping against the rear quarter trim panel when seat belt is not in use.

NOTE:

ALL VEHICLE OCCUPANTS SHOULD BE ENCOURAGED TO WEAR THEIR SEAT BELT.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves the addition of a sound deadener pad to the rear quarter trim panel.

1.

Clean quarter panel surface with Mopar Total Kleen (P/N 4318018) and dry thoroughly

Seat Belt

2.

Locate the sound deadener pad two inches down from the bottom of the seat belt opening in the rear quarter trim panel. Line the pad up behind the
seat belt latch plate as shown in illustration. Remove backing paper and apply pad with cloth side facing out.

3.

Repeat steps 1 & 2 on the opposite side.
