Throttle Valve Cable Attachment

The transmission throttle lever is operated by an adjustable cable. The cable adjustment lock button is located in the retainer portion of the cable
(engine-end).

A correctly adjusted throttle valve cable will cause the throttle lever on the transmission to move simultaneously with the throttle control lever from the
idle position. Proper adjustment will allow simultaneous movement without causing the transmission throttle lever to either move ahead of, or lag behind
the accelerator lever.

Throttle cable adjustment can be checked on the vehicle. It is recommended that cable adjustment condition be verified before proceeding to the cable
adjustment procedure.

1. Turn ignition key to OFF position.

2. Verify that fuel injection pump accelerator linkage is at curb idle position.
3. Slide cable off attachment stud on throttle body or injection pump lever.
