2500 4x4 Pickup V8-5.2L CNG VIN T (1996)
Thermostat: Service and Repair
1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then drain coolant below level of thermostat.
2. On models with air conditioning, remove alternator support bracket.
3. Remove drive belt as outlined in "Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories" under "Engine".
4. Remove alternator mounting bolts, if equipped with 4WD disconnect indicator lamp wiring harness located by rear of alternator, then remove
alternator.
5. Remove upper radiator hose clamp, then radiator hose.
6. Remove thermostat housing mounting bolts, housing, then thermostat.
7. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install thermostat housing with "front" stamp facing front of engine.
b. Tighten thermostat housing bolts to specifications.
