NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH DIESEL ENGINES AND MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS BUILT BEFORE
2/01/94 (MDH 02-01-XX) AND DIESEL ENGINES AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS BUILT BETWEEN 10/01/94 (MDH 10-01-XX)
AND 2-01-94 (MDH 02-01-XX). THE REVISED PARTS WILL NOT FIT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION VEHICLES BUILT BEFORE
10/1/94 DUE TO REVISIONS TO THE EXHAUST SYSTEM HANGER LOCATIONS.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Diesel exhaust from the tail pipe may stain the paint on the pick up sides or dual wheel extensions.
DIAGNOSIS:
Inspect the area behind the rear wheels. If excessive diesel exhaust stains are present or if owners complain of having to clean the area frequently,
perform the repair procedure.

Tail Pipe
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves replacing the tail pipe with a pipe that has a revised outlet.
1.
Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
2.
Saturate the clamp nuts with heat valve lubricant, and allow five minutes for penetration.
3.
Disconnect the tail pipe hanger.
4.
Remove the clamp nuts and clamps.
5.
Remove the tail pipe.
6.
Install tail pipe P/N 52022035.
7.
Align the tail pipe and install the clamps and connect the hanger.
