Fig. 33  Exhaust Manifold Bolt Tightening Sequence

1. Loosen air crossover hose clamps.
2. Disconnect air intake and exhaust piping from turbocharger.
3. Disconnect oil supply line and oil drain tube.
4. Disconnect intercooler inlet duct from turbocharger.
5. Remove turbocharger attaching nuts and the turbocharger and gasket.
6. Remove cab heater supply and return lines.
7. Remove manifold attaching bolts, then the manifold and gaskets.
8. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

a. Tighten manifold bolts to specifications in the sequence shown.
b. Tighten all bolts & nuts to specifications.
c. Operate engine to check for leaks.
