Remove the right and left wheelhouse liners (Figure 5).

Remove the two outer upper shock absorber bracket mounting nuts from both coil spring towers (Figure 1).
14.
Remove the hydraulic jack from under the truck and lower the vehicle to access underhood components.
15.
Remove the shock absorber bracket and shock absorber assembly from both coil spring towers (Figure 1).
16.
Remove the front suspension coil springs from the axle brackets.
17.
Remove the coil spring tower rubber spring pad and stud plate from both coil spring towers.
NOTE:
Save the rubber spring pads and stud plates for installation after coil spring towers are reinforced.
18.
Raise the truck to a working level to access the coil spring tower area.
19.
Place the hydraulic jack under the axle and support the axle while making the coil spring tower inspections and repairs.
B. Inspect the Front Suspension Coil Spring Towers For Cracks
NOTE:
The front axle springs must be removed from the truck before an accurate inspection can be performed.
