Windshield - Popping or Snapping Noise

SUBJECT:
Windshield Popping Or Snapping Noise

MODELS:

1994 (BR) Ram Truck

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

A popping or snapping noise coming from the base of the windshield while driving over rough roads and/or irregular road surfaces.

DIAGNOSIS:

Road test the vehicle. If the noise is present, perform the repair procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This bulletin involves removing the windshield spacers located at the base of the windshield.

1.

Remove the wiper arms.

2.

Remove the cowl grille weather strip.

3.

Remove the cowl grille.

4.

Using a screw driver, pry the plastic support spacers away from the base of the windshield and discard them (see illustration). These spacers are
needed only during the installation process.

5.

Install the cowl grille and weatherstrip.

6.

Install the wiper arms and check the wipe pattern.
