Seals and Gaskets: Service and Repair
Front Axle
REMOVAL
1. Remove the axle shaft seal from the differential housing with a long drift or punch.
Note: Be careful not to damage the housing.
2. Clean the inside perimeter of the differential housing with fine crocus cloth.
INSTALLATION
1. Apply a light film of oil to the inside lip of the new axle shaft seal.

2. Install the inner axle seal, use special installer number D-163 with the 60 axle and special installer number 5041-3 with the 44 axle
