Install the provided message center wiring jumper between the instrument panel electrical harness connector and the control module message
center connector (Figure 5).
14.
Secure the wiring jumper to the instrument panel wiring harness by wrapping them together using the provided foam tape.
15.
Install the climate control module into the instrument panel and secure with the four attaching screws (Figure 4).
16.
Connect the auxiliary power outlet electrical connector.
17.
Connect the cigar lighter electrical connector.
18.
Snap the instrument panel cluster bezel into place (Figure 3).
19.
Install the ash receiver bracket and tighten the two attaching screws (Figure 2).
20.
Install the ash receiver.
21.
Install the cup holder assembly and tighten the two attaching screws (Figure 1).
22.
Reconnect the battery.
23.
Verify that the "MAINT REOD" light on the climate control module message center is illuminated during the ignition key-on bulb check cycle.

Dear Dodge Ram Truck Owner:
Chrysler has determined that some 1996 Dodge Ram trucks equipped with a 5.9L heavy duty gasoline engine, may be in violation of U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) Standards.
The Problem is...
The emission maintenance reminder (EMR) light on your Dodge Ram truck (identified on the enclosed form), will not illuminate. Failure to illuminate
the EMR light to remind the vehicle owner that certain emission components require replacement is a violation of EPA emission regulations.
What Chrysler and your dealer will do...
Chrysler will repair your vehicle free of charge (parts and labor). To do this, your dealer will install a wiring harness in the EMR circuit and, if
necessary, replace the vehicle's climate control module (the EMR light is located in the climate control module message center). The work will take
about one hour to complete. However, additional time may be necessary depending on how dealer appointments are scheduled and processed.
What you must do...

Simply contact your Dodge Truck dealer to schedule a service appointment. Ask the dealer to hold the parts for your vehicle or to order them before
your appointment.

Bring the enclosed Owner Notification Form with you to your dealer. It explains the required service to your dealer.

In order to ensure your full protection under the emission warranty made applicable to your vehicle under Federal law, and your right to participate in
future recalls, it is recommended that you have your vehicle serviced as soon as possible. Failure to do so could legally be determined to be a lack of
proper maintenance of your vehicle. Further, without this repair your vehicle may fail a state or local emission inspection test.
