Speed Control Servo: Service and Repair
1983 400, 1983 - 87 ARIES, E CLASS, LEBARON, NEW YORKER, RELIANT, 600, 1984 - 87 DAYTONA & LASER & 1986 - 87
CARAVELLE, LANCER & LEBARON GTS
1. Remove throttle cable attaching nuts and mounting bracket to servo.
2. Remove two screws attaching servo mounting bracket to battery tray, then servo mounting bracket.
3. Disconnect vacuum hoses and electrical connectors, then speedometer cable from servo.
4. Pull servo away from cable to expose cable retaining clip, then remove clip attaching cable to servo.
5. To install, position throttle in full open position, then align hole in throttle cable with hole in servo pin and install retaining clip.
6. Connect vacuum hose to servo, speedometer cable and electrical connectors.
7. Place mounting bracket in position, then install two screws attaching bracket to battery tray. Torque to 105 inch lbs.
8. Install servo studs through holes in throttle cable and mounting bracket. Install nuts and torque to 80 inch lbs.
