600 L4-135 2.2L SOHC (1983)
NOTE: Some vehicles have a linkless sway bar in the front suspension. The new sway bar is nearly symmetric looking and it is possible to install the
sway bar improperly in the vehicle when it is removed for service. Always mark the sway bar prior to removal to assure proper installation. Sway bars
used for production and service replacement are marked on the left (driver side) by a dab or stripe of paint.
1. Position crossmember bushings on bar with curved surface up and split to front of vehicle. Set upper clamps onto crossmember bushings, lift bar
assembly into crossmember and install lower clamps and bolts.
2. Position retainers at control arms, then insert bolts and install nuts.
3. With lower control arms raised to design height, tighten bolts. Refer to image for bolt torques on except models with "D" shaped insulators.
Torque bolts to 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm) on 1982 - 83 models, or 25 ft. lbs. (34 Nm) on 1984 - 88 models with "D" shaped insulators.
A bushing
retainer is not used on 1984 - 88 models.
