SYMPTOM/CONDITION
Some vehicles may exhibit a low-frequency chuckling noise from the front suspension on small bumps at low speeds. This noise may originate in the
MacPherson struts. Replacement of the strut assembly will not eliminate the noise.
DIAGNOSIS
1.
Verify that the noise is not due to a loose underhood component.
2.
Road test over small bumps and/or expansion joints in pavement to verify noise.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
Follow service manual procedures for the following operations:
1.
Remove the strut assembly (s) using service manual procedures, making sure that camber positions are marked accurately.
2.
Remove the strut upper retainer assembly and coil spring upper seat.
