2. On CITROEN units, separate tripod from housing by slightly deforming retaining ring at three locations. If necessary, cut retaining ring from

housing and install replacement retaining ring with inner flange rolled, then stake into machined groove with a suitable punch. When removing
tripod from housing, secure rollers. After tripod has been removed, secure assembly with tape.

3. On early 1982 G.K.N. non-spring loaded units, slide tripod from housing.  On late 1982---87 G.K.N. spring loaded units, bend tabs on joint cover

using needle nose pliers, then remove tripod from housing.
