If voltmeter indicates no voltage, replace logic module.
Test 14-Step G, Checking For A Shorted DIST. Pick-Up Coil
1.
Disconnect distributor connector.
2.
Connect a voltmeter between terminal No. 23 of logic module connector and ground, then turn ignition switch to Run position.
3.
If voltmeter reads 7.5 to 9 volts, replace distributor pickup coil.
4.
If voltmeter indicates no voltage, proceed to Step H.
Test 14-Step H, Checking 8 Volts at Power Module
1.
Turn ignition switch Off, then disconnect 12-way power module electrical connector.
2.
Connect a voltmeter between pin 12 of power module and ground, then turn ignition switch to Run position.
3.
If voltmeter reads 7.5 to 9 volts, locate and repair open or short in wire between terminal No. 12 and logic module.
NOTE: Make sure the terminal in cavity No. 12 is not spread apart so that it cannot touch the power module pin.
4.
If voltmeter indicates no voltage, proceed to Test 14 step I.
Test 14-Step I, Ignition Switch Voltage to Power Module
1.
Turn ignition switch Off, then disconnect 10-way connector from power module.
2.
Connect positive voltmeter lead to terminal No. 2 of 10-way connector and negative lead to either terminal No. 9 or 10 of connector, then turn
ignition switch to Run position.
3.
If voltmeter reads within 1 volt of battery voltage, replace power module.
CAUTION: Before replacing the power module, make sure the terminals in cavities 2, 9 and 10 are not spread apart so that they cannot touch
the power module pins.
4.
If voltmeter indicates no voltage, move voltmeter negative lead to a good engine ground. If voltmeter now reads within 1 volt of battery voltage,
locate and repair open circuit in power module ground. If voltmeter still indicates no voltage, locate and repair open in wire from terminal No. 2.
Test 15-Step A, Fault Code 11/12 - DIST. Pick-Up Coil Circuit
1.
Turn ignition switch Off, then remove coil wire from distributor cap and position 1/4 inch from a good engine ground.
2.
Disconnect distributor reference pickup connector, then turn ignition switch to Run position.
3.
Connect a jumper wire between reference pickup coil connector terminal Nos. 2 and 3. Make and break this connection several times.
4.
If spark is present at coil wire, proceed to Test 15 step B.
5.
If no spark is present, proceed to Test 15 step C.
Test 15-Step B, Checking For 8 Volt to Pick-Up Coil
1.
With distributor reference pickup coil disconnected, connect a voltmeter between terminal No. 1 of connector and ground, then turn ignition
switch to Run position.
2.
If voltmeter reads 7.5 to 9 volts, replace distributor pickup coil.
CAUTION: Before replacing the pick-up make sure the terminals in the distributor harness connector are not spread apart so that they cannot
touch the pick up coil connector pins.
3.
If voltmeter indicates no voltage, locate and repair open in wire between terminal No. 1 and wiring harness splice.
Test 15-Step C, Pick-Up Coil Signal Voltage
1.
With distributor reference pickup coil disconnected, connect a voltmeter between terminal Nos. 2 and 3 of connector, then turn ignition switch to
Run position.
2.
If voltmeter reads 4 volts or more, replace logic module.
3.
If voltmeter indicates no voltage, proceed to Test 15 step D.
Test 15-Step D, Distributor Harness Ground Circuit
1.
With distributor reference pickup coil disconnected, connect a voltmeter between terminal No. 3 of connector and ground, then turn ignition
switch to Run position.
2.
If voltmeter reads 4 volts or more, locate and repair open in wire between terminal No. 2 and wiring harness splice.
3.
If voltmeter indicates no voltage, proceed to Test 15 step E.
Test 15-Step E, Checking For Signal Voltage at Logic Module
1.
Connect a voltmeter between terminal No. 10 of logic module red connector and ground, then turn ignition switch to Run position.
