Using a torque wrench, record the rotating torque of the rotor (Figure 2).

NOTE:

DO NOT MEASURE BREAKAWAY TORQUE.

Remove the caliper from the hub and record the rotating torque of the rotor again. Calculate the drag torque by subtracting the first and second
readings. The calculated torque should be 4 Nm (35 in. lbs.) or less.

5.

Make appropriate repairs or reinstall the caliper.

NOTE:

TO OBTAIN CONSISTENT MEASUREMENTS FROM SIDE TO SIDE, FULLY COMPLETE ONE SIDES MEASUREMENTS AND CALIPER
REINSTALLATION BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THE OTHER SIDES MEASUREMENTS.

Booster Pushrod Measurement

1.

Check clearance "A" (Figure 3) between the brake booster push rod and primary piston as follows:

Remove the master cylinder from the booster.

B.

Remove any vacuum that may be left in the booster.
