Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid CKT

WHEN MONITORED:

With the ignition key ON.

SET CONDITION:

An open or shorted condition is detected in the torque converter clutch solenoid relay control circuit.

THEORY OF OPERATION:

Three-speed trucks use a relay to control the torque converter clutch solenoid. The solenoid controls the operation of the converter clutch. A small
current continuously senses the state of this circuit when the ignition key is turned ON.

POSSIBLE CAUSES:

-

Solenoid/relay coil open or shorted

-

Fused ignition switch output circuit open

-

Solenoid/relay control circuit open or shorted to ground
