Brake Proportioning/Combination Valve: Service and Repair
Without Antilock Brakes
NOTE: This procedure requires the removal of the engine assembly.
Proportioning Valve Components Removal
REMOVAL
1. Drain the brake fluid.
2. Remove the engine assembly.
3. Follow the removal procedure in the above image.
INSTALLATION
1. Follow the procedure in reverse order of removal for installation.
2. connect the brake lines to proportioning valve correct ports as shown and below for reference:

To rear brake (L.H.) (1)

To rear brake (R.H.) (2)
-
To front brake (R.H.) (3)
-
To front brake (L.H.) (4)
-
From master cylinder (secondary) (5)
-
From mater cylinder (primary) (6)
3. Fill master cylinder with brake fluid conforming to DOT 3 or DOT 4 specifications.
4. Bleed brake system.
5. Install engine assembly.
