Use the special tool to secure the pulley, and then remove the pulley mounting nuts.
INSPECTION

Check the flow control valve for clogging.

Check the pulley assembly for wear or damage.

Check the groove of rotor and vane for Stepped" wear.

Check the contact surface of cam ring and vanes for Stepped wear.

Check the vanes for damage.
ASSEMBLY
Follow disassembly procedure in reverse order for assembly, noting the following.
1. Use special tools to install oil seal.
2. Use the special tool to press-fit the shaft assembly.
