Front Door Latch: Service and Repair
Front Door Latch - Installation

INSTALLATION

1. Place the door latch (3) into the access opening and connect the door lock rod to the door latch.
2. Connect the electrical connector to the door latch.
3. Install the interior door handle release cable to the latch.
4. Connect the lock cylinder to the latch (Driver door only).
5. Connect the exterior handle linkage to the latch.

6. Place the latch into position and install the door latch mounting fasteners (1). Tighten to 60 N-m (60 in. lbs.).
7. Apply RTV sealant or equivalent to the edge of the door module access opening relief cutout and allow to dry.
8. Install the rubber door latch access cover to the door module.
9. Connect the door latch cable to the interior door handle.

10. Install the door trim panel. See: Front Door Panel/Service and Repair/Front Door Trim Panel - Installation.
11. Install the mirror flag bezel. See: Mirrors/Service and Repair/Front Door Mirror Flag - Installation.
12. Verify proper latch operation and adjust as necessary. See: Adjustments.
