Front Seat Back Recliner - Removal

REMOVAL

NOTE: Convertible only, seat back is not removable from seat frame assembly.

WARNING: Discard and replace the seat back bolts (2) with new bolts when servicing. Installing used bolts may result in the loosening of the

seat back bolts after repair. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious or fatal injury.

1. Remove the front seat from the vehicle. See: Service and Repair/Seat - Removal.
2. Remove the seat seat cushion side shields.See: Seat Cushion/Service and Repair/Seat Cushion Side Shields - Removal.
3. Disconnect the electrical connectors and remove from the seat frame. 
4. Remove and discard the bolts (2).
5. Remove the seat back assembly (1). 

Front Seat Back Recliner - Installation

INSTALLATION

1. Place seat back recliner (1) into position.
2. Install the seat back recliner right and left bolts (2).
3. Tighten pivot bolts to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).
4. Route the electrical harness and connectors between the seat back and the seat cushion.
5. Connect and secure the electrical connectors.
6. Install the seat cushion side shields.See: Seat Cushion/Service and Repair/Seat Cushion Side Shields - Installation 
7. Install the front seat to the vehicle.See: Service and Repair/Seat - Installation
