8. Remove the brake pedal holding tool.
9. Install the engine appearance cover.
10. Connect the battery negative cable to the battery post. It is important that this be performed properly. See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service
and Repair/Procedures/Battery Reconnection
11. Hook up the scan tool to initialize the ABM and perform the following:
a. Clear any faults.
b. Fill the master cylinder to the proper fill level and bleed the base and ABS hydraulic systems. See: Brake Bleeding/Service and Repair
c. Check for leaks.
d. Perform the ABS Verification Test and road test the vehicle. See: Brake Bleeding/Service and Repair
Hydraulic Control unit (HCU) - Removal
REMOVAL
NOTE: HCU service is only allowed on non-Hill Start Assist (HSA) equipped vehicles. For vehicles equipped with HSA, the ICU must be
serviced as an assembly.
