FLASH: 62TE Transmission Harsh Engagement or Clunk when Shifting Out of Reverse or from Drive, Through Reverse into Park / **DTC P0732**
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to CS models equipped with a 4.0L gasoline engine (Sales Code EGS) and a 62TE Transmission (Sales Code DG2) built before
04113107 (MDH 0413XX). Also JS models equipped with a 3.5L gasoline engine (Sales Code EGF) and a 62TE Transmission (Sales Code DG2)
built before 04125107 (MDH 0425XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Some vehicle operators may experience a harsh transmission engagement or clunk when shifting out of reverse or from drive, through reverse into park.
** Additionally, MIL illumination may be intermittently experienced. Further investigation may find the following:**
1.
**DTC P0732 - Gear Ratio Error in 2nd Gear**
a.
**The MIL may or may not be lit (2 trip fault).**
b.
**This is an intermittent condition and cannot be duplicated. If the fault can be duplicated, other conditions exist and further investigation
will be required.**
DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (StarSCAN(R)) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in TechCONNECT, verify all engine Systems are functioning as
designed. If DTC's are present record them on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin.
If the vehicle operator describes the Symptom/Condition or if can be duplicated, perform the Repair Procedure
