Front Door Handle: Service and Repair
Interior Door Handle
INSIDE DOOR HANDLE ACTUATOR REMOVAL
1. Raise the window glass to the completely closed position.
2. Remove the door trim/access panel and the waterdam from the door inner panel.
Door Latch & Rods
3. Remove the handle-to-latch rod from the handle actuator lever via the access opening in the panel.
Manual Window Glass Regulator
4. Remove the retaining screws and remove the inside handle actuator from the door inner panel and tapping plate.
INSTALLATION
1. Position the inside handle actuator on the door inner panel with the lever in the panel opening.
2. Connect the handle-to-latch rod to the actuator lever via the access opening in the panel.
3. Attach the actuator to the door panel and tapping plate with the retaining screws. Tighten the screws with 11 Nm (95 in. lbs.) torque.
4. If necessary, adjust the rod to eliminate excess handle travel.
5. Install the door waterdam and the trim/access panel.
