Rear Door Latch: Service and Repair

RIGHT DOOR LATCH REMOVAL
1. Open the right cargo door.
2. Remove the trim panel from the right door inner panel.
3. Disconnect the:
-
outside handle-to-latch rod from the latch lever;
-
key lock cylinder-to-latch rod from the latch;
-
inside handle-to-latch rod from the latch; and
-
lock knob-to-latch rod from the latch.
4. Remove the door latch retaining screws from the door inner side panel.
5. Remove the door latch from the door via the access opening in the inner panel.
INSTALLATION
1. Insert the door latch through the access opening in the inner panel. Position the latch at the door inner side panel and connect the rods to it.
2. Install the latch retaining screws in the door inner side panel. Tighten the screws with 11 Nm (95 in. lbs.) torque.
3. Test and ensure that the latch operates correctly.
4. Install the door trim panel.
LEFT DOOR CALIPER LATCHES AND RODS REMOVAL
1. Open both cargo doors.
2. Remove the trim panel from the left door inner panel.
3. Remove the trim panel from the left door inner side panel.
