Idle Speed/Throttle Actuator - Electronic: Testing and Inspection
NOTE:
To perform a complete test of AIS motor and its circuitry, refer to appropriate Diagnostic Chart. To test the AIS motor only, exerciser tool (7558)
may be used.
TESTING PRECAUTIONS

Set the parking brake and block the drive wheels ^ Route all tester cables away from the cooling fans, drive belt, pulleys, and exhaust
components
^
Provide proper ventilation while operating the engine
^
Always return the engine idle speed to normal before disconnecting the exerciser tool.
PROCEDURE
MAP Sensor And Connector
1.
With the ignition OFF, disconnect the AIS motor wire connector at throttle body.
Automatic Idle Speed Motor Testing
2.
Plug the exerciser tool (7558) harness connector into the AIS motor.
