Quarter Panel Air Exhauster Whistle

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
A whistling noise, coming from the air exhausters in the rear quarter panels. The noise can usually be heard only on vehicles without interior trim.
DIAGNOSIS:
Road test the vehicle with the windows closed, the blower on high and the Heater A/C system in the outside air mode. If the whistling noise is present,
perform the repair procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves replacement of the rear air exhausters.
1.
Remove both tail lamp assemblies to gain access to the air exhausters located in the tail lamp housings.
2.
Pry the old exhausters away from the housings to remove them. Remove any remaining gasket material. Remove any adhesive from the housing
with a solvent such as MOPAR Super Clean P/N 4318015.
3.
Remove the protective tape from the gasket and install the new air exhausters by applying pressure to the exhauster. Make sure that the flaps are
lying flat.
4.
Install the tail lamp assemblies.
