NOTE:
Spring Compressor Tool DD-1278 will maintain the spring in a semi-compressed condition. This will retain the spring in place until the
lower suspension arm is detached from the lower ball joint and lowered for spring removal.

Remove the cotter pin and lower ball stud nut at the steering knuckle.

Install Ball Joint Stud Remover C-3564-A on the lower ball joint stud. Turn the threaded portion of the tool and lock securely against the
lower ball joint stud (Figure 2).

Expand the tool enough to place force on the lower ball joint stud. Strike the steering knuckle lower arm sharply with a hammer to loosen
the stud. Do not attempt to force the studs out of the steering knuckle with the tool only.
10.
Swing the lower suspension arm down and back off the spring compressor tool. Then remove the spring with isolator pad from the vehicle.
11.
Repeat Steps 3-10 to remove the spring from the other side of vehicle.
