1.
Tape the isolator pad to the top of the supplied coil spring. Position the spring in the lower suspension arm well. Be sure that the coil spring
is seated in the well (Figure 3). The flat or closed end of the coil spring is the top. The ramped or open end of the coil spring is the bottom.
2.
Install Spring Compressor Tool DD-1278 up through the lower suspension arm and coil spring.
3.
Tighten the spring compressor tool DD-1278 nut to compress the coil spring.
4.
Raise the lower suspension arm with spring and position the lower ball joint stud in steering knuckle.
5.
Install the retaining nut on the lower ball joint stud.
NOTE:
There are two possible ball joint sizes available. Torque the ball joint nut as follows:

11/16-16 stud, tighten to 183 N-m (135 ft.lbs.) torque.
^
3/4-16 stud, tighten to 237 N-m (175 ft.lbs.) torque.
6.
Install the provided cotter pins.
7.
Install the strut, spacer plate and jounce bumper and torque to 136 N-m (100 ft.lbs.).
8.
Remove the spring compressor tool.
9.
Install the shock absorber.
10.
Install the brake caliper.
11.
Repeat Steps 1-10 to install the spring on the other side of vehicle.
12.
Install the front wheels and tires. Lower the vehicle.

ADJUST WHEEL TOE POSITION:
1.
Hold the steering wheel with a clamping tool so that the front wheels are in the straight ahead position. For power steering vehicles, start the
engine before straightening the wheels.
2.
Loosen the tie rod adjustment sleeve clamp bolts (Figure 4).
3.
Adjust the wheel toe position to O~ (-0.25~ to +0.25~) by rotating the tie rod adjustment sleeve (Figure 4).
4.
Position the adjustment sleeve clamps so the bolts are not located at the sleeve slot. Tighten the tie rod sleeve clamps;

Standard Duty to 23 N-m (17 ft.lbs.) torque
^
Heavy Duty to 35 N-m (26 ft.lbs.) torque
Ensure the clamp bolts are located at the underside of the sleeve.
5.
Remove steering wheel clamping tool.

Claims for vehicles which have been serviced must be submitted on the DIAL System. Claims submitted will be used by Chrysler to record service
completions and provide dealer payments.
