Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid: Testing and Inspection

Locks Up or Drags In Low or Second

1.

Sticking fail-safe valve.

Sticking switch valve.

3.

Valve body malfunction.

Faulty oil pump. 

Loud Chatter While Locking-Up When Cold

1.

Leaking turbine hub seal in converter.

Failed locking clutch in converter. 

No Lock-Up

Faulty input shaft or seal ring.
