Sliding Door Latch: Service and Repair
Latch Access Cover & Inside Handle
LATCH ACCESS COVER REMOVAL
1. Remove the door inside trim panel.
2. Remove the door inside handle.
3. Remove the lock knob and grommet from the knob-to-latch rod.
4. Remove the latch access cover retaining screws from the door inner panel.
5. Remove the access cover from the door inner panel.
INSTALLATION
1. Position the latch access cover on the door inner panel with the knob-to-latch rod and the outside handle shaft inserted in the cover holes.
2. Align the holes and install the cover retaining screws in the door inner panel. Tighten the screws with 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.) torque.
3. Install the door inside handle.
4. Install the knob and grommet on the knob-to-latch rod.
5. Install the door inside trim panel.
DOOR FRONT LATCH REMOVAL
1. Remove the door inside trim panel.

2. Remove the door inside and outside handles.
3. Remove the latch access cover.
4. Disconnect all the rods from the latch.
5. Remove the latch retaining screws from the door inside panel.
