Body-to-Door Weatherstrip Seal
SERVICE INFORMATION
The body-to-door weatherstrip seal is attached to the panels around the perimeter of the body door opening panel with adhesive and integral seal
retainers.
REMOVAL
1. Open the cargo door.
Weatherstrip Seal Screw & Bumper
2. Remove the screw and bumper located at the seal upper corners.
3. Start at either lower corner and pull outward on the seal to separate it and the retainers from the door opening panels.
4. Continue around the perimeter of the seal and pull outward on the seal to separate it and the retainers completely from the door opening panels.
5. Remove the seal from the door opening.
6. Remove the residual adhesive from the door opening panels with an appropriate removal solution.
7. Clean the door opening panels with an appropriate cleaning solution.
INSTALLATION
The body-to-door weatherstrip seal is retained on the door panels with retainers and adhesive applied around the perimeter of the door opening.
1. Apply adhesive around the perimeter of the door opening panels.
2. Position the weatherstrip seal on the door opening panels.
3. Start at the lower, rear corner of the seal. Simultaneously, move lateral and upward around the perimeter of the door opening and firmly/uniformly
press the seal against the door opening panels. Seal positioning at the corners is critical. The seal must be firmly "seated" at each corner. Avoid
"puckering" and stretching the seal at the corners.
4. Install the screw and bumper the seal upper corners.
