Tighten valve body bolts alternately and evenly to 11 Nm (100 lb-in).
13.
Install a new fluid filter on the valve body. Tighten filter screws to 4 Nm (35 lb-in).
Manual Shift Shaft Seal Installation

Install a new manual lever shaft seal in the case if it was removed earlier. Use a 15/16 in deep well socket to seat the seal.
15.
Install and connect the neutral switch in the case.
16.
Install the throttle and gear shift levers on the valve body manual lever shaft.
17.
Check and adjust front and rear bands if necessary.
18.
Connect the valve body overdrive and lock-up solenoid wires to the case connector.
19.
Install the oil pan with a new gasket. Tighten the pan bolts to 17 Nm (13 lb-ft).
20.
Lower the vehicle and fill the transmission with type 9602, or Dexron II fluid.
21.
Check and adjust gearshift and throttle linkage if necessary.
