Lifter / Lash Adjuster: Service and Repair
Valve Tappet(s) - Installation
INSTALLATION
NOTE: If reinstalling original tappets they must go back in their original location or engine damage could result.
1. Apply a light coat of clean engine oil to camshafts tappets (1) prior to assembly.
2. Install camshaft tappets (1) into cylinder head.
3. Repeat installation procedure for each camshaft tappet.
4. Install camshaftsSee: Camshaft/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Camshaft - Installation.
NOTE: If installing new tappets, the valve lash procedure must be performed.
5. Install cylinder head coverSee: Cylinder Head Assembly/Valve Cover/Service and Repair/Cylinder Head Cover(s) - Installation.
