Load Compensator: Adjustments
Height Sensing Proportioning Valve Adjustment
NOTE: After installing a new height sensing dual proportioning valve, bleed both rear brakes.
1. Lift vehicle with a frame contact hoist or other means so that the rear suspension is hanging free.
2. Disconnect the shock absorbers from the axle.
3. Remove the rear wheels.
CAUTION: Improper adjustment may result if the rear springs are contacting the hoist.
NOTE: Before performing the next step be sure that the actuator assembly hook is properly seated on the valve lever.
4. Loosen the adjustment nut on the actuator assembly.
5. Pull the actuator assembly toward the spring hanger until the valve lever bottoms on the valve body.
6. Holding actuator in this position, tighten adjustment nut to 5 Nm (25 lbs in).
7. Install wheels and connect shock absorbers.
8. Road test vehicle.
