Speed Control Servo: Testing and Inspection
1986-87 MINI-VANS/WAGONS
To avoid serious engine damage and personal injury, the engine must be off when performing this test.
1. Disconnect vacuum hose from vacuum servo motor to valve body and connect a hand-held vacuum pump to the servo motor.
2. Apply 10 inches Hg vacuum to servo motor and ensure throttle becomes fully applied and remains so for at least one minute. If throttle does not
respond as indicated, adjust throttle linkage or replace servo motor as necessary.
3. Connect servo motor directly to valve body side of vacuum reservoir and tee a vacuum pump into this line.
4. Apply 10 inches Hg vacuum to servo motor and reservoir and ensure throttle becomes fully applied and remains so for at least one minute. If
throttle does not respond as indicated, repair leaking vacuum hose or replace reservoir as necessary.
