Improved Front Seat Belt Retraction

THIS BULLETIN SUPERSEDES TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 23-25-93 WHICH SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM YOUR FILES. ALL
REVISIONS ARE HIGHLIGHTED WITH **ASTERISKS**.

Voyager/Grand Voyager/Town & Country

NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES BUILT PRIOR TO 5/31/93 (MDH 0531XX).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Some front seat belts may not fully retract when returned to the storage position.

DIAGNOSIS:

While sitting in the seat, put the seat belt on and then release the belt and let it return to the storage position. Repeat several times. If the seat belt does
not fully retract, verify the seat belt webbing is not twisted at the turning loop (near the top of the "B"-Post). Twisting of the seat belt webbing can be
minimized by placing the adjustable turning loop (if so equipped) in the full up position and/or by returning the seat belt buckle tip to its retracted
position with your inboard (to the vehicle) hand. If the seat belt still does not fully retract, remove the "B"-Post trim and determine if there is any
interference (wiring, trim, etc.) with the movement of the belt webbing. If interference is discovered, eliminate the interference, then perform the repair
procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This bulletin involves replacement of the front outboard seat belt assembly(s).

NOTE:
DURING INSTALLATION OF THE NEW SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY, ENSURE THAT NO COMPONENTS OF THE VEHICLE INTERFERE
WITH THE TRAVEL OF THE WEBBING OF THE SEAT BELT.

Using the procedure on pages 23-37 and 23-39 of the 1993 Front Wheel/All Wheel Drive Van/Wagon Service Manual (Publication No.
81-370-3105) or page 23-38 of the 1992 Front Wheel/All Wheel Drive Van/Wagon Service Manual (Publication No. 81-370-2105) replace the
front outboard seat belt assembly(s).
